Statement - Quick Question

My statement came in, and it shows I have a 7% UTI. My question is what if I use my card today, and bring the UTI to 20%? What will show on my credit report? Also, if I pay the full balance on my credit card next week (so I don't have to pay interest), what will show on my credit report -- 7%, or 0% UTI?

Thanks in advance!

A very few might report on a different day (USBank cards update on the last business day of the month, reporting that day's balance), but otherwise, your balances are updated once a month. That's why you can use your card as much as you like, as long as you stay aware of dates and have the self-discipline (and cash on hand) to promptly pay them off again.

One sorta exception: every now and then, Discover gets the hiccups and updates twice in a month. The next month they go back to their usual pattern. This probably sometimes happens with other cards, too. Seems like HSBC/ Orchard did this around the time that they were selling off their CC portfolio. At a guess, it made their AR (accounts receivable) higher, so they could ask a higher price. Smiley Wink
