Has anyone else had this happen to them?
I just got an email from Cap1 with a $100 CLI on my secured card. This is my second. I know they give almost everyone a $100 unsecured CLI at 6 months, but I just got a second one at 12 months. I'm pretty sure I've never read about anyone getting a second one on a secured card.
Do you think maybe they know they're in the sock drawer? I haven't even used this card since around July or August. Or do you think maybe they're loosening up on their policies?
Well, it's free money so i would take it. As seems Cap1 has been on a 'generous cli' extravaganza, perhaps they were also considering the secured cards as well. But I don't know the answer to your direct question....maybe they are loosening up their policies a bit. Why don't you give them a call and see if they can unsecure it?
Seems like Capital One has been uncharacteristically generous lately, but I'm not going to question it lol. Enjoy the CLI, Starry. Congrats!
Irisa, did you go for the CLI?

I've called in twice to ask about them switching my secured to an unsecured and each time they've said it's not something that they offer at this time. Do you think this is just a CapOne policy? Any other thoughts on other companies policies on this matter?

You got a CLI on a Cap 1 secured card? How, I have had mine for almost four years and nothing.

AFAIK, Cap1 Secured cards are not eligible to graduate into the unsecured status...I closed mine right away when i was being told by the CSR and got my deposit back within 2weeks. I'm sure it's Cap1 policy, but who knows...they seem to be generous lately w/ all of their CLIs, so they may start offering this option in the near future?
Other companies like BOA's 99/500 secured card is known to graduate to 'unsecured' status after 12months or more.

Ah ha! Found it! Congratulations!! Funny, I talked to the EO (again) right about when you got this CLI and I was told it's impossible still to get a CLI, PC, or graduation, so I closed it.
