I've been playing w fire. I added a ridiculous amount of new accounts this year but this is the first averse action I've faced.

My credit score has dipped to 665 in the last month.  I recently started using the Amazon store card after the card went unused for nearly 6 months or so. I also mistakenly let a Citi card report in last few weeks with 93% utilization.

I checked all my other Sync accounts & the limits are currently untouched, no closures. That Citi card will report under 87% in next 10 days; hopefully that will keep Sync off my back. Maybe this will be good because I was dangerously close to $50,000 total exposure to Sync & I'd rather increase my PP Credit account than this Amazon card (but I want more than $100 limit lol)

On the upside, it seems you're taking it in stride despite the large haircut/CLD -- especially when compared to other SYNCB Adverse Action threads floating around. Admittedly, you shared some significant behaviors/factors that likely played a role with the CLD and that's pretty commendable since often times those DPs are usually not provided.

Since SYNCB hasn't touched the other accounts (knock on wood) and the Amazon CC wasn't outright closed, as long as you fly below the radar for a while, you should be able to get that limit restored over time.

Thanks for sharing your SYNCB experience.

I hear you my friend. We all gotta watch out with Synchrony.

I'm confident when the smoke clears I'll come out of this with a higher limit on my PP Credit like I've always wanted & I'm sure eventually I'll get this Amazon card limit up over $100 lol, might take 6 months or so to get everything fixed.

This statement caught my attention, perhaps because of the thousands of posts I have read on this forum. With Synchrony, I am never confident of anything. I am only confident in my ability to greatly limit my exposure to Synchrony. Perhaps it could just be the vast number of store cards they handle, but the posts on these forums do not breed confidence when it comes to Synchrony and possible adverse actions they may take. They seem unpredictable at best.

I shouldn't have let my score drop that low; I made a bad mistake letting that Citi account report at 93%. Citi offered me a .99% APR BT offer for 18 months on my Costco Visa. I don't even shop at Costco anymore so thought this way good way to keep card active for next year or so & utilize a BT. I have an odd limit of $9,500 on that account & for some reason I forgot, just assumed it was $10,000. I have several cards with $10,000 limit including a different Citi account. So I transferred too much to the account.

I've had accounts instantly shut down by Synch in the past. I accept this risk when I apply for their products. Perhaps "confident" isn't exactly the right word. If they didn't instantly shut down all my accounts it's a decent sign. Also the $2500 CLI from Macy's might have alleviated some initial anxiety I was feeling last night.

I actually didn't say anything about a second account being high in utilization. I said that I have already paid the Citi account that was reported 93% well down below 89.9%.

I'm not all too worried about what happens next. I paid the small balance on my Amazon card to zero & made a hefty payment to PP credit which was aroun 40% utilization now down to 20%... If Sync shuts some accounts down they shut some accounts down. I'm happy with the new credit I obtained this year. My scores are about to shoot up & my utilization is about to go way down. My overall utilization is only 13% right now, maybe Sync used an old SP when it was like 17% last month.

I just got a $2,500 CLI last night from Macy's to get one of my Macys Amex accounts to $20,000. That should help offset this CLD. I'm glad Macy's bumped me bc they had stopped giving me CLIs for 2 months.

Sorry about your Synchrony CLD!  You've had a lot going on this last year.  Do you get frequent CLI's from Macy's or something?  Your last comment made me smile when I read it.  🤣

I thought that you had a Sam's Club card or two in your lineup as well?  Maybe I'm mistaken and thinking of someone else...

No Sam's Club cards here... Up above is all I have from Synchrony.

I have 2 Macy's Amex cards, one is already at the max 25K limit, the other I just reached 20K...

Yes Macy's/Citi Retail is known to grant CLIs every 31 days as long as your credit score isn't falling. On this 2nd account they had been giving me small $1,500 increases every month on & off for nearly 2 years. I'm sure there's a number of factors but I notice when my score drops below 670 these CLIs are much more difficult to come by.

Hey @trvlscmmr ,

Point of clarification please.  I know you had 6 months of inactivity,   Were you using the card just Prior to or after the CLD?

Re: Synchrony Amazon CLD

What's the utilization on that card right now?

You said you paid it below 89% but in lenders eyes, that's still maxed out.

I'm asking because if the balance doesn't drop fast enough, this process has a very good chance of repeating itself

Yes I had just charged less than $50 worth of Amazon purchases on the card last month. The CLD happened the day my Amazon card statement closed just a few days ago.
