Do I sense sarcasm? If not I misunderstood your thread title. Yeah the 5% and free shipping is a blessing, but give me a break they make Crap1 look generous.

My thread title was a genuine question. My reassurance that their store card really isn't worth having is readily present. Thanks as always to those who replied!

My bad, sorry.

Supposedly they are more generous with in-store apps, but given the little chance of an increase over time, I wish I'd just done the debit card.

Currentl there is no Target Visa to apply for.

You don't get a Target Card for some go to credit card and limit to help you util.

You get Target Credit Card for the ongoing 5% off instantly at checkout!

Plus you get free shipping when you make online purchases.

I can't wait for Christmas.  I am going to send them a $500 payment and then spend it.  In that order!  They have great things for sale at good prices on Black Friday, so I will be prepared.  I want that 5% back on top of the great prices!

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.

Re: Target CC ... what is your CL?

These low limits make me glad that I didn't waste an HP on Target! I was very tempted. I shop there several times a week, but like most store cards, I was expecting a low limit and a high APR, so I passed on it. Was pleased to find out that you can get the 5% off with the RED Debit as well, so I get the discount and don't have to worry about another bill to pay down before the statement date in order to avoid showing a 90% util on a $500 limit.
