Re: Target

Tried to apply online. Response was two ways to apply in store or by mail.  Can anyone tell me where to find the online app?  Thanks

Re: Target

you can only apply in store or by mail. You can download the application and send it in or mail it to them.

Re: Target

hi bobtail, you can't apply on line, i don't think so. I think you have to visit the store, it takes thirty seconds to apply via keypad gizmo - they ask for your dl and ss and keypad and a couple of questions. I think the income one for me was a "range" btw.

Re: Target

I think Target does CLI on the lottery system - nothing else makes sense.

Re: Target

It must, because my mom just got ANOTHER increase and I am still at 200 after 5 years. She has only had hers for a year or so. I told her to apply after her BK. I cannot believe it. I am so frustrated with them.

Re: Target

I just got my Target card last month so I will be reporting how things go after my 3rd statement cuts.  As per this forum, I'll try to carry a small balance but use it a lot to see if I get and Target CLI action Smiley Happy

Hi Mizu! Smiley Happy

I'm not sure what you've read about the Target Red Card, but I wouldn't advise carrying a balance if you have the ability to PIF. The APR on that card is high, and that's money out of your pocket. And, I've not read of any evidence that balance carrying is what triggers a CLI. I've received two in the past year and I've never, not even once, carried a balance.

I have to agree with the member who said that the Red Card is on the lottery system for CLIs. Carrying a balance or PIF, Sock-Drawered or frequent use, $200 limit for seven years, or 3 months old, etc... have all seen feast or famine with this card, and there's little to no discernable rhyme or reason to the lender's action.

Re: Target

Hmm.  Ok perhaps I will just PIF then!  Thanks for your advice.  Smiley Happy

One other question: Are there any other Minnesotans out there with a Target card that might be able to share their personal experience?  I live about a mile and a half from Target headquarters in Minneapolis so I am curious if they treat us any differently (maybe better, maybe worse?) since we are in such a highly saturated Target metropolis.  Thanks!

I have a $300 CL with Target since 1999. I called them just now.  You CANNOT request a cli, it's new that it's automatic.  No one can seem to tell me why after 8 YEARS! Of no missed payments, no over the cli, I have not had a cli or been offered a visa card.  He said the only thing he can do is notate my account that I was looking for cli and have never had one!!  Accounts are being reviewed this month rather they can be upgraded to visa this month he said.
Let me know if anyone sees a new Target Visa card come in the mail, I will be way jealous!

I have the Target Visa that started with a CL of $500.  I called to do a CLI last month - it was totally automated and I was instantly approved for a new CL of $1000.  I didn't even have to talk to a live person...

Re: Target

I recieved a cli 7 months ago of $1k by calling the number on the back of the card and that put me at $2500 and i checked my online statement this morning and it's now at $3800 another cli of $1300 this time automatically.

I've had my card since 04 it started with $200 as the red card got upgraded after 1 year to visa with $1k another $500 cli 2 years later to $1.5k. I never charge more than $200-$300 every few months and pay that off over 2 months.
