Thank You Points -> Gift Cards -> Plastic Jungle

I just got my Thank You Preffered card yesterday and damn is it sexy! I also have the Forward and have a ton of thank you points racked up that are now worth more since I have the preffered. I wanted anyones advice on using plastic jungle to sell the gift cards I would buy with points. Is it easy? Ever been ripped off? Also, it says, pays "Up to X %" I dont want to buy some $100 Walmart gift cards and have the rate change. Thanks for any help guys and gals!

I sell all my giftcards on eBay, some people pay OVER the value! You'll get a lot more on there then you would with a gift card reselling site.

I agree with selling them on eBay.  I have sold several on there, and the worst return I've gotten is 90 cents on the dollar.

Can you explain farther about points being worth more with the Preferred?  I rack up a good number of points on the Forward, but it is the only TY card I have.

When you have a thank you card the points equal 1:1 in redemption. When you only have the forward the points are worth less. For instance a $50 gift card cost 6000 points if I remember. Now I get them for 5000 points. The two combined are very powerful. It makes the forward an uncapped 5% back card.

I always wondered about these types of bids (over the stored value). Perhaps it's people trying to liquidate their PayPal accounts.

That could be possible but wouldn't it be more cost effective to just dump it into a bank account?

Re: Thank You Points -> Gift Cards -> Plastic Jungle

Yeah I always figured it was people who don't or no longer have a bank account setup to their PayPal account so they cannot withdraw the money, or they don't want someone to know what they are buying from their bank account.

That's another good theory. Adding to my point about people looking for ways to liquidiate, PayPal is notorious for freezing accounts so if someone was executing some scheme to load their PayPal account with reload cards bought with credit credits for points/minimum spend, liquidating them to a bank account right after loading would definitely be a red flag. Instead the person could use the PP money to buy Walmart gift cards off eBay then sell them on Plastic Jungle or something. That would be too much work for bonus points alone I think, but for someone desperate to clear a minimum spend on a sign-up bonus...
