Thanks Ms Disco; I'll come back l8r

We need a break. One year anniversary with Disco next week.  Checked the pre-quals; two came up...horrible apr.  Applied for cli-Nada.

How long before they credit my acct. with Cash Back match? Date of opening the card or a week or two later? Thanks!

Mine showed up when the first statement after my anniversary came. Should be the same for you. Closing date for me is the 5th. Statement cuts the 11th. The card was opened July 22, 2018. My match was there when my statement cut on August 11th of this year.

Would closing this low limit secured/unsecured card eventually net me a better card; higher limit; lower rate?

Hard to say. Not sure I’ve seen any DPs for people who have closed them and gone back later. If your profile is stronger when you apply again it stands to reason that you’d get a better approval, but Disco is on crack as you know. No way to know how they weight prior relationships into the mix...

Yeah, I couldn't find any DPs either; figure I'd ask.

I will say that that is exactly what I did with Comenity and it worked.....just wondering.  Well as I typed that stmt I realized this is another Disco, "Who Knows?" type thing.

If I do, I'll report back.

Thanks!

You can request an APR reduction after 12 statements.

You can?  This Disco card I have now is 0% til next July but is just low.  That's why I wanted a different card and if this higher int. card will lower in 12 stmts. then that would be great.  Are annual apr reductions pretty rock solid? ( if you're credit is solid, that is)

Wait until your promo period is over and then simply get on live chat and ask for the reduction Smiley Happy. A close friend of mine took my advice and went from 24% to 18%!

I can't say how the algorithim would go into play if you were to app for a 2nd card; but I would assume because of your newness to Discover- it won't be what you're expecting. Give Ms. Disco some time and she'll warm up Smiley Happy. If I were you- I would wait until your promo apr ends on the first card, ask for the apr reduction and then 2nd app Smiley Happy.

You actually have to wait until your intro is over but they're pretty good about giving them. When my 14 months was up I asked and they dropped me from 22.24% to 18.49%.

You can ask every 6 months after that.
