Re: The Chance AMEX Approve for Blue Cash

In general, you just don't want to apply for credit when you have negatives on your reports.

Especially big negatives.

Especially when they're due to fall off relatively soon.

If your only vehicle just blew up, and you live 40 miles from work without any option of mass transit or ride-sharing or riding in on horseback, that's different. That's a time where you might have to grit your teeth and get an auto loan, knowing that your APR will be worse.

But getting a CC for the sake of getting a CC, when you aren't able to present your best credit profile, just makes no sense to me. Even if you get approved, your CL will be lower and your APR higher, and I'll betcha that your account will always be notated in some internal form that your credit was blemished at the time of application.

Just a general observation to anyone who's gotten the app'ing fever from hanging around the Credit Cards board. Smiley Wink

Re: The Chance AMEX Approve for Blue Cash

Question: Where did you get those scores in your siggy? EX isn't available to the public and hasn't for a while now.

I signed up on experian.com website for "PLUS Score and Experian Credit Report" for $14.95/month. That's where I got my experian credit score. Basically, I signed up the membership for all three credit bureaus to check my reports & scores.  also signed up to get my report and fico score ay myfico.com, but ran into some type of trouble that they couldn't verify my identity or something.

why is there such a dramatic increase in the month between scores?

On June 2010 is when I began to sign up the membership to get my reports & scores. Most of the original negative marks and collections account were reported on my credit report. I began to dispute in June & July with the credit bureaus and have a few collection & charge-off accounts removed. I also contacted the collection agency: RJM Acquisitions LLC to PFD. I love RJM, because they are very easy to work with, but I do advise to get everything you negotiate in writing.

Below are the scores I got from each credit bureaus. In order from top to bottom is Equifax, Experian, & TransUnion

Equifax Score

Experian Score

TransUnion Score

Just in case you don't already know the Experian Plus score is not an Experian FICO score and the two can't be compared to each other in any way. No one has been able to buy their own Experian FICO score since February of 2009. Creditors can pull Experian and also there is a CU in Pennsylvania that supplies that information to it's members only.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800
TU - 8/10-772
You can do the same thing with hard work

Re: The Chance AMEX Approve for Blue Cash

Sorry to be a pest about this but I'm still confused.  You have 3 baddies reporting on your CBRs.  You're telling us that your scores are in the low-mid 700s with these on there.  Your screen shot of the Experian FICO(?) shows they said that your payment history is GREAT.  Something is amiss here.  Are the baddies showing on EX?  If you really want to apply for the Amex card then it couldn't really hurt too much to see if it will go through.  If they say "no" you're only really hit with an INQ and that will recover in a few months.

Re: The Chance AMEX Approve for Blue Cash

I just purchased the myFico Equifax Score today. The score I got from myFico is very similar to the one I purchased from Equifax website that claimed to be FICO score too. Are they really the same score?
