Give the student version a try instead. If you app the standard version your chance is not that great.
Just an FYI... There is a $200 cash back offer after $500 spend out there on the Dividend card if you decide to apply. You can google it...

Nope. I got my Forward and Dividend card through student version application. Both started with $1000. Forward is now $2000 and Dividend is now $1500.
I like both. Forward is for Amazon, restaurant and video game (Steam) spending. Dividend for quaterly 5% bonus.
My third Citi card, AT&T Universal Savings & Reward, starts out with $1500 (no student version on this). It is used to pay AT&T bills (10% off first year, 5% thereafter).
I have a Platinum Select MC that's about 2 years old that I haven't used in a while. No rewards and I don't need a BT. Was thinking about the Dividend card myself for the rotating 5% categories. Next quarter is Home Improvement!! Yay!
