Time of Year for CLI

Re: Time of Year for CLI

I don't know that the holidays would trigger a CLI, but the increased spending that frequently occurs that time of year might.

It certainly explains the auto-CLI from Disco, though spending a whopping 4% of my previous CL might be it too haha

Re: Time of Year for CLI

Thanks for your extensive post!

I was planning to request a CLI from BofA before the end of the year so that I could plan to garden for all of 2018. (I was also considering Chase, but I'm focusing my spending on BofA since I think an HP is likely to be more worthwhile with them than Chase.) I PIF, let util report at 1%, etc, so I'm mainly looking to grow my profile.

I was originally more concerned about lenders being less giving during that time of the year since more people may be requesting CLI's than usual. I don't have much interest in store cards at the moment, but comparing the two is interesting!

Bank of america has treated me like a king!

I had a SL of $5000

3 months in I took the HP requesting 20k and got 10100. Excellent!! doubled my line.

another 3 months in i took another HP requesting 20k and got 17200!! could not be happier and WORTH THE HP.

Chase sucks.

Lastly, large banks don't pinch their pennies in regards to the holidays.

Meaning, the holiday season is not accounted for when it comes to CLI.

They look at the their big picture and are not worried about your individiual credit line.

They normally will give you what you can handle.

Definitely the Holiday season. End of year. retailers and Banks for banking on major spending. So I think they become a little ore loose with opening new lines of credit, etc.
