Ok I couldn't resist. I applied for Juniper (Airtran Visa) and Hooters MC, after checking whogavemecredit.com...... got the 7-10 day response message, so we'll see. I did check my TU FICO on myfico.com and now it's up to 630. The simulator states best course of action would be to pay down $2,300 cc debt and score could jump to 680 to 720 in a month (????) These 2 inq will probably hurt but I plan to pay off Merrick and Applied by EOY so hopefully it won't be too bad. I'll let you know what happens. If these are denied, no more apps for me until '09Thanks for all of the advice!!!
Right now everyone applying for Juniper is getting the 7-10 day message. Wish I hadn't mentioned that one as they are still in the process of cleaning up a mess. Everyone is getting 7-10 days with them now. Hooters usually gives 7-10 if memory serves.

Driving in to work this morning I realized what a mistake I made last night applying for the 2 cc. I should have tried for store cards to get a mix of credit...Oh well, if approved, I can at least close out 1st Premier. That would be the correct thing to do right? Closing them won't hurt my scores???? I hate paying all those fees and they won't even give a CLI. Also, 2 of you have suggested that I "upgrade" my current cards. Now I have an offer to upgrade the Applied Bank, but there's a $49.95 fee. Should I upgrade it?
Actually what I meant by upgrade was to apply for a card with better terms then close the high fee cards. You can check your application status with Junny at www.myapplicationstatus.com Actually applying for two at once is probably the best way to go to see which offers you better terms if approved. You can still apply for a store card
Juniper Bank uses a credit scoring system to process applications. This system assigns a numerical value to the various items of information we consider when evaluating an application. These numerical values are based upon the results of analyses of repayment histories of large numbers of customers.
Based on the information you provided in your application, you did not score enough points when compared with other applicants. The primary reasons you did not score enough points are listed below:
