The UBER Visa is not 4% back on travel. It's 3% back.

And it's not on travel.  It's only on hotels and airfare.

Citi Premiere does 3x points on travel, which includes car rentals and even gas.

Hotels & airfare, along with other things, fall under the travel category.

What do you think they fall under?

I think the point is that the Uber Visa doesn't give 3% on things like:

Cruises (Unless they're booked with a travel agency? I'm not clear on the wording)

Parking and tolls

Car rentals

Uber rides (And what's up with that?)

Gas

I do understand that.

But to label hotels & airfare as NOT travel is incorrect.

He's not saying they're not examples of travel purchases. He's saying you're using the word "travel" too loosely in describing 3% purchases.

Given how widespread CSR/CSP and Premier are, a lot of people (especially people on a CC forum) expect a "travel" bonus category to include trains, taxis, etc.

Barclays doesn't even use the term, but rather "airfare, hotels, and vacation home rentals".

If I said "Cash+ offers 5% on dining" then people would be right to correct me and point out that formal sit-down restaurants are not eligible for 5%. The term "dining" would be too broad.

Spend: BofA PR + WWFCR, BBP, Schwab Platinum, Freedom x 2, Costco, Discover

Mostly earning MRs and cash back as I use up hotel and airline points spread across several programs.

Re: Travel card that includes car rental?

To give you some idea of how broad the CSP/CSR categories are.... I just paid for a bowling alley membership with my CSP, and I got the bonus points for it being a "dining" transaction. Yes, apparently Chase considers even a bowling alley membership to be "dining".

Even though Cash+ themselves don't offer 5% on sit-down restaurants, restaurants are still dining. It doesn't change that.

Just like airfare & hotels & car rentals are still travel. Just because certain cards exempt certain things doesn't change that.

Re: Travel card that includes car rental?

OP here. We get it guys - a square is a rectangle, but not all rectangles are square. The point of this thread was to identify travel cards that include car rentals for the bonus. The Uber card does not qualify for this purpose. Please move on.

CSP has primary rental insurance with AF of 99$
With a coverage up to 75k

Another option:-

Enroll into amex premium car rental insurance
Costs 25$ per booking with a coverage up to 100k
If you dont have an Amex card, i would recommend getting Hilton honor card it has 0 Af and FTF

Is the Amex premium  a better option than Visa Infinite ?
