Re: Tried again for Cap One Secured

Op

Just be patient. Capone is probably just verifying all your information. I remember when I was rebuilding I got that message and about a week later, I got an email that said congratulations your card has been approved.

Just give it some time

Good luck :-)

I would get WHATEVER NFCU card you can, before any other card.

^^.

If you have a NFCU account, not certain why anyone would not look to them first for virtually anything credit-card related when it comes to building / rebuilding.

As for secured cards: yes you can be denied, especially if you have a judgement on your files where that security deposit is at risk.

Also secured cards apparently always take longer to approve because they have to wait for the check to clear fully which always takes a ridiculously long time (like a week or more between the funds transfer and acceptance) and my own experience has been they don't typically let you know anytime quickly... usually the first notification I got for any of my secured cards was the card actually showing up in the mail.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Tried again for Cap One Secured

I'm definitely going for the NFCU Secured, just wanted to try for capone first because the deposit is sometimes lower. Plus to rebuild. I'm going to need about 3 cards.

Through the hard to understand agent (because she made 17 statements at once which some contradicted the last), I'm approved pending $99 deposit review. Yah!! My first rebuilder card and the next will be NFCU.

I suggest 2 secured cards is enough. Better to have higher deposits on 2 cards.   When you have some good history of these 2 cards (about a year), then I suggest you apply for unsecured card of some type.
