I believe you have to apply in person for that particular card.

US Bank is not a CU, no membership required.

I realise it's not a CU... just weird you have to apply in person instead of online, wondered if it was only open to members of the bank.  So anyone can apply?  Stricter than AMEX approvals?

Well, Lexie's point is that there is no such thing as "members of the bank" in the same way there are "members of a CU".  Maybe you mean you have to have an existing account?  That's not needed either.

+1

It just happens that US Bank decided to restrict this specific product (and others) within their geographic footprint in which they have a retail presence.  When the Cash+ was inititally introduced, it was available to all applicants.  There are a variety of methods that some folks have used for applying outside of this footprint restriciton but often times it's more hassle than what it's worth for some and may not get slotted in the right product.

Re: US Bank Cash+ questions

You can try calling a branch to see if they'll process your app over the phone.

Other than that, you have to either drop by a branch in person, or be an existing customer of the bank.
