I Recently opened a Us bank easy checking account to take advantage of 200$ checking account Bonus mailer that came to me couple of days ago, and today i got the Us bank debit card and online access.
When i checked their prequal i saw they prequalified me for their 3 cards based on my preference that is cash back. But i dont know if this is just a vague general prequalification thats common or profile specific? for apr it says something like "0% introductory APR∗ on purchases and balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles. After that, a variable APR applies, currently 19.99%."
Also what are US bank cash+ 5% categories and choices? I am still researching information on this card. i have not looked into US bank credit cards in detail.
some more details at the bottom
Yes, those are a solid prequal offer as the APR is not a ragne, but a set rate.
Please note, however, that this is still not a guarantee that you'll be approved.
I can't speak as to how reliable their prequals are, but I too opened a checking account for the $200 bonus and apllied for the Cash+ about a month ago. I was approved for a 5k SL with an Experian of around 735, but didn't have a prequal (I'm under 21.) You can see what categories are available here https://cashplus.usbank.com/categories/index?quarterId=44. I hear that US bank likes doing business with people who are already there customers. So, if the categories fit your spending habits I would go for it.

Can you explain your approval process ? Thanks . I applied for cash + and the system said they will let me know in 7 to 10 business days. And their automated phone cannot locate my application when i type my ssn. It says we cannot retrieve or something like that. Weird. I guess i will call after some time. Was yours an instant approval? If approved i am planning to switch my checking to gold so that i dont have to do dds to avoid fees
Interesting. Until your thread prompted me to check it out, I've never been prequalified for anything from them before on their site. Looks like the range for both of these cards is 14.99% to 23.99%, so they seem like solid pre-approvals. I am gardening right now, but I'll have to check back again with them to see if that Cash+ Visa Signature drops to 14.99% (out of principle), since I think it would be kinda cool to have four 5% cards (I have Discover it, Chase Freedom, and plan to PC my Citi Diamond Preferred to Dividend in 2018). Oddly, I chose "Travel rewards" under "What is important to you" and it gave me two cash back cards.

I got those same offers with the same APR, maybe I'll apply once I'm done gardening. They seem like decent cards!
I've heard their pre-qual's are pretty reliable, but it seems like a lot go in to manual review?

Yes most go into manual review.. The only two times I haven't gone into manual review with US Bank is when I has a reservation code. Never been denied a Us Bank Card although the limit has to be desired at least for me. I recently opened a Us Bank checking account and threw some money in there again to see if that can let them lighten up on me and not be such tight wads
How long is their manual review process? Like on a scale of Navy/PenFed to JCB/Banco do Brasil Americas?

I was able to call in and find out if I was approved 2 days after apping for my most recent Cash+ card. (The US Bank CSR had specifically advised me during my application over the phone with them to call in after 2 days, upon which I received an automated message mentioning that I was approved.)
