What is an ach transfer? I just set up an automatic transfer from my BofA checking account to my usaa checking account for $1000 on the 1st and 15th of every month on the app. Is that the same thing? If you set it up for BoA to push the funds it might be, but if you set it up with USAA to 'pull' the funds it definitely won't be.
I 'push' $500 each month from USAA to Wells Fargo to get my WF fees waived (WF's systems view the incoming ACH 'push' as a direct deposit), but I'm not sure if USAA operates similarly or not.
Perhaps somebody else will have a data point, but since as far as I know until now there's never been a reason for anybody to try this with USAA, so you might have to be the 'guinea pig'.
The terms say a transfer initiated with an external financial institution counts as a qualifying direct deposit. And I can confirm... my direct deposit went to the wrong account one month so I transferred to USAA and it was listed under rewards as a qualified deposit.

Where did you check to see that it qualified, I pushed $1000 from my NFCU account to my USAA account recently. I thought it might show up under the Offers page, but didn't see anything there...

It's actually under the rewards summary, when you view the transactions, it's listed as "2.5 LL DIRECT DEPOSIT"

Awesome sauce, thanks! I see it on mine, apparently, I forgot I cashed out my USAA 401k and that counted as well as a Direct Deposit, so I didn't even need to push the $1000 from NFCU, but both still counted for Data Points ![]()

Great info! I cancelled my transfers at usaa and set up a monthly ach transfer at BofA to usaa. It helped that it said ach transfer at BofA. $3.00 monthly fee but I'd prefer this over changing my direct deposits at this point. We'll see if it works and I'll update.

BofA charges ACH transfer fees? Time to find another bank!
I know! That's why I started back up with usaa in the first place. I wanted to get rid of my BofA accounts. I've never had issues with them, it's just that ever since they sold my mortgage I have no real use for them. Their products are crap in my opinion and they charge you for everything. I'm going to slowly start moving my BofA assets to usaa.
Also, don't forget about shopping through USAA MemeberShop.
With 2.5% cashback plus the addtional MemberShop Rewards, this card sounds even better!
I just checked out USAA's MemeberShop, and IHG is offering an additional 4% cashback. So this makes the Limitless a 6.5% Cashback card at all IHG hotels!! Sweet!! ![]()
