For whatever the reason(s), it's taken about a week and a half for those envelopes to arrive for each of the several times that I've ordered the envelopes.
Also, if you requested the envelopes orally, then maybe you didn't receive them because of an unintentional error on the part of the agent. Each time that I've requested the envelopes either via their website or via their telephone automated system, I've received them.
I ordered envelopes in the beginning of June and I did it online.
At this rate I'm going to be forced to drive ALL the way up to Oceanside to deposit this silly $30 check because it expires in July. It's the one thing I really dislike about USAA and because they force you to write that "FSB" nonsense on the back of the check I can't take it to either of my other banks who would have taken it. I was hoping to just throw the small rebate checks to USAA and use it for stock purchases. Been debating closing the account.

Has anyone tried the Automatic investing they offer? Seems nice, any hard pulls for this?
No credit pulls.
What I like is by automatic investing you don't have to start with the minimum share purchase for mutual funds.
+1 and they gave me 50 free trades for 90 days when I opened an investment account and opened it with only $100 that seems like a steal
@ReVeLaTeD wrote:I use USAA as a pass-through for stock purchases only. I considered transferring business but...I dunno. Something about their site irks me. It's clean, but yet still difficult to navigate around. And their ATM machines are not smart enough to scan unconventional checks (i.e. HSBC) where the transit number and account number are swapped. They don't do envelope deposits so I can't get around it.

They denied me for a credit card. Their only denial reason if I recall had to do with AAoA.
No matter what I do I cannot find a bank whose online portal is more functional than Citibank for reason.
You can check the status of your check orders and etc. by logging into your USAA account. Once logged in, type Harland in the search window. There you will find a link to Harlands Clarke website. The website has to be linked from USAA's website to check order status. Hope this helps!

Does a UPS store nearby you participate in "USAA Easy Deposit" ? The UPS store scans the check.

Scanner does not read HSBC's checks. Tried that already. It read the little postcard rebate check from VMWare, but refuses to scan the HSBC cash back check because the transit number is not first in the row. The scanner gets confused and rejects it.
Also when I requested the mail in check envelopes it wasn't Harland. It was a USAA form. IT goes to Harland now, but before it didn't. I sent them an email inquiry.
Not sure but I believe that USAA does have the deposit@home where you take a pic of the front and back of your check. Maybe you should check that out.
I'm pretty sure you have to be a full member and have a credit card with them in order to use the deposit@home service. The member specifically stated they were denied for a credit card, so this would not be an option.

If I remember correctly, you either have to be P&C qualified and also credit qualified or else P&C qualified with an active policy.

+1 When I inquried about the deposit@home, I followed the "how to become eligible" guidelines to qualify. One must be eligible for a CC to be eligible for deposit@home.

Not entirely accurate.
Actually, it depends on whether you have an active P&C policy or not. There are two scenarios:
1. You are eligible for P&C insurance and have an active USAA loan or credit card (not a USAA Secured Card); or
2. You have an active P&C insurance policy and are qualified for a USAA loan or credit card (not a USAA Secured Card).

When I asked USAA what it means by being qualified for a credit product, I was told that it can mean that they think your credit is good enough to the point where they would approve you if you applied, or they may just look at your account and membership history and how you have managed your accounts.
