Yes, those CD rates are really good so I guess that answers the question!
(Most internet banks also reimburse ATM fees, but they don't have CD rates like that.)
Thank you all for this information! I am going to go for USAA as that seems to be better for rebuilders.
They may be better but they are not rebuilder friendly by any means. I highly encourage you to go with DCU, and wait a little bit for USAA.
DCU huh. Alright, maybe I will just open a checking/savings with USAA with my grandfather and then wait to app until my score goes up. I will look into DCU now
Dont think I can get into DCU : / Dont know anybody who banks with them so i am not eligible
I love Penfed, my scores were in the high 600's when approved for their Travel Rewards Amex. I'm not really sure how they approved me, I had more than 30 inquiries. They approved me for $5000.
Wow! Alot of mixed signals here. What do i do! haaha
I've beem with PenFed just a month now but after looking around and shopping, it beats most anything out there on credit limits, rates, auto refinances, et...not sure about mortgages but so far so good. I would highly recommend them if you have great credit (740+). If not, I've heard great thigs about USAA as well...like stellar customer service. I am a member of NFCU but have not applied for any of their cards though I am preapproved for them. The rates seem high and the rewards average when compared to the competition. I have some great cards already, but none of them stack up against my Penfed.

Anyone can join DCU via membership in a participating organization.
