I am getting 6x on grocery and 3x on everything else
@longtimelurker wrote:Just spoke to a CSR, and she said that this applies to new AND existing cardholders, and that if I use the card at a supermarket today I will get 6%. Since CSRs always know and speak the truth....
I will try it soon. If it is as she said, for the last 3 months this will be quite a card, 6% uncapped on groceries, and 3% everywhere else.
dont be going back to old habbits of gc's
@CreditCobra wrote:Yeah, losing the 3% a the end of this year was already known, as stated in prior comments, this would have gone to a 2% card, but they went a different direction. Actually the 6% on groceries from now until the end of 2023 seems like a great deal for my current lineup. I'll have to see if Costco codes as Grocery.
Have a Walmart and Target on my rewards sheet that did not code for 6x.
I will bet $100 fico dollars Costco is the same.
The rewards did start on 9/1, had a grocery the day before (3x) and on the 1st (6x), same store.
Went out to USAlliance web page to re-read the fine print today.
Discovered that depending on which path of entry you get two different sets of rewards (fine print)

Because I am getting the 6% (Grocery), I think they have just missed changing one of the pages.
It could be misleading to new visitor however.

Yes, I had just checked that my first three grocery transactions had indeed earned 6x when I got the email! Glad MyFico alerted me first.
For those of use with heavy grocery spend, this really is amazing (for 15 months or so) especially on a no AF card. And, unlike BCP, no cap.
I don't mind the loss of 2%, as I wasn't planning on using it as my 2% card because of the $25 increment redemption structure, and the FTF (though it's smaller than many). Now wait to see what happens after 12/31/2023!

Agree 6% grocery > 2% flat.
* However (IMHO) *
3% flat > 6% grocery
It shows they want to play the rewards game for awhile.
I also will be using it for grocery spend.

3% flat > 6% grocery
I agree with that. But, once the 3% goes away, I want to calculate the impact! With PPMC giving 3% on Paypal transactions, BCE giving 3% up to $6K on online, and AR giving 3/4.5% on mobile, much of the flat 3% is covered. The exception seems to be my vet, who don't take mobile pay...
I chatted with a live agent and she checked for me...The 6% on groceries (unlimited) applies to end of 2023...The 3% on everything else will revert to 2% (Not 1% as some here thought) after end of December 2022...However she did mention that if they change their mind and decide to keep the 3% then the members will be notifed before year's end...
