USAlliance card change

I found this notice of card change on the USAlliance site.   USALLIANCE Card Conversion Guide   The first bit doesn't seem that important.

  • New sleek contactless credit cards will be issued when your current card expires.
  • A customizable new credit card alerts system.
  • Refreshed statements and online card access portal.
  • New Credit Card Payment Mailing Address: USALLIANCE Financial PO BOX 4517, CAROL STREAM, IL 60197. (Please be sure to update any existing web bill pay addresses in your online banking portal.) You may still make payments online as well.

But it ends with a change in reward program:

Through this conversion, we are enhancing our rewards points system. With our new site, ScoreCard, Visa Signature and Platinum cardholders will be able to redeem points at any point in time as points will be credited on a daily basis. Your current point balance will carry over into our new and improved ScoreCard rewards system.

I seem to remember hearing negative things about ScoreCard (and the existing CURewards for that matter).   Is it just a question of how it is implemented?   Or might we find that the 3% points become worth less than 3% for cashback/statement credit?

Well existing points will be carried over, hopefully without a reduction in value!

During this time, members will still accrue points. In May, members will be able to view all carry-over points from CU Rewards combined with their newly accrued points in the ScoreCard rewards platform.

I saw it on the website by chance, but looks like they just sent out email!

Also, statements (generated in the past) won't be available online after Apr 8.   I think this is very short notice!   Yes, they will be available by request, but that is a pain.

Yeah, I too got the email last night. Very short notice. And I was worried that if they devaule the points after migration.

I have quite a bunch of points with them ☹️

You can just cash them all out for statement credit, creating a positive balance, and either use it up or they will send a check.  Generally, saving up these kinds of points with an issuer isn't a good idea, I cash mine out every month.

Re: USAlliance card change

Got the email last night.

A week is enough time to download my last months statement and request refund.

Did both just a minute ago.

They have been fast at statement credit, about 3 days from my experience.

Will be ready to see how the new system works out.

Like that points should credit as charges post.

Advertising on main CC page makes it sound like each point should = 1 cent.

A month from now we will all know the good and bad from the change   Smiley LOL

I agree best to get refunds as soon as possible if in a cash back  system

I get it every month, the email just prompted me to do it today.

Re: USAlliance card change

I wonder if there's any chance of this card remaining at 3% past the end of the year. It's been extended before. Fingers crossed!

Sure, but I (and pretty sure you) have 2 years of statements, my first is March 2020.  And while it doesn't take long to download, I shouldn't have to drop other things to rush to do it.   After all, doing so takes me a few minutes off myfico!   The horror.

You should be downloading statements every month just like the rewards.  Smiley Happy
