Vacation, Delta gc and mrp's...

So I have $100 in Delta GC's, and enough mrps to cover my flight to Tampa.
How do I go about booking through Amex travel, and still use my gift card??
I'm thinking it's a waste to use mrps for hotels since less than 1for1...
If I book through Amex travel can I then call Delta and have them reduce the price by the amount of the gift cards?
First real vacation with my wife!
Right now I'm about to book the flight but want to make sure I can use the gift cards after..
Also since I went through Amex travel it says book both together after I book a flight, will it then bring up hotels?

You can transfer MR to delta skymiles, then book on delta.com with "miles+cash", and pay with GC for cash portion.

Don't know if thats a good value proposition, however.

Not sure how amextravel portal works, I never used it due to low valuation.

I thought mrp's was well known I quess I'll type MR for now on lol.
I just got off phone with amex and they said I can book it and then call Delta and they will reduce my statement balance with the gift cards. Is it bad that I'm about to call Delta because I don't trust people? 🤣🤣

amextravel.com gives you 1 cent per MR, in most cases, its not a good valuation.

I just did some more research with Delta SkyMiles, and it will only cost me 20000 SkyMiles compared to almost double that if I went through in MR. I am about to transfer the miles now

OP what is the price of the tickets, each seat and each one-way leg? Dollars and miles?

How many points and GC balances are you intending to use?

What does AMEX mean, buy with cash on ANEX Travel, or use points through AMEX travel?

Yeah, be careful with travel portals. I have used chase portal, amextravel, wells fargo portal, while in many cases they will give you same low price as airline or kayak, in many other cases, they will not give you best price.
