Can anyone here answer this question please
I had a WAMU Petsmart card, which was just converted to a Chase Rewards card. They just mailed me the card this weekend.
I looked on there website, and don't see a similar card. You are all talking about the Freedom card and the Perfect Card. Has anyone had the plain old Rewards card that I have and switched?????
Thanks
K
I have just called and after 3 calls I made, finally an account specialist was able to help me out by "adding" the Perfect card features to my WAMU nothing card. I have also requested for a new card as "my magnetic swipe is not swiping properly". Kudos to you all for providing and supporting. I did the way exactly like Ficonovice. Awesome.
1st call: Sorry you cannot switch to a Perfect card. The only way is for you to close this account and apply for the Perfect car.
2nd call: No, I'm sorry. I don't see an option for me to switch you to a Perfect card account.
3rd call: Let me transfer you to an account specialist. Acct Spec: Yeah sure...let me see...hold on a minute...okay let me see here...blah blah blah...done.
Persistance pays off
Congrats!
I called to convert a WAMU card that was rate jacked (from 8.99 to 17.99 before WAMU closed!)
I called and asked the rep if I could convert this card with no rewards to a Chase reward card ... sure no problem ..done ...
Then I asked if I could do anything about the rate since it was rate jacked for no reason and then the company sold .... keep in mind I have a Chase Platinum MC with a 7.99 Rate and 15k limit ......the rep puts me on hold and talks to her supv ... they come back and say they cannot change the rate but the rewards are already added as we speak.... I told them its a low limit card only 3.5k and that its not that important to keep open ... I told them to just combine it with my current card ...
2 minutes later they raised my Platinum card to 18.5k and closed the WAMU which was fine with me ... there was nothing to gain out of a 3.5k card with a 18% rate ... no thanks

I'm still a chicken to try again, but I do have a question for those who have converted. I was lucky enough to keep my 9.99% apr when Chase took over my WaMu account. I read where some posters had their apr increased. What are the chances that the terms of my card will change if I change or add the rewards? I realize Chase can obviously change the apr at anytime, however will the product change trigger a change in terms for the apr?
I guess if the APR is that much important to you as of right now, I think you should keep it that way to not trigger anything.
