You will like Amex for sure. Treat them well and they will treat you well! Not to mention the comments you will get on the card.
I had my first Amex card back in 2006. They closed it in 2009. After it closed a $5 late fee was sent to collections...it balloned to $250. I paid it, but wish it never had to go that far.
Either way, I GW'd the TL directly w/ exec. relations and they removed the entire TL. It hurt me, because it was my oldest account. Guess that is old news, as this will report as a 2006 card and I couldn't be more excited!
+1 - that back dating is really nice. I too had cards in the past and closed them. Never any lates, just did not want to pay that annual fee... Back in 2011, I opened a Zync and had it back dated to 1979 when I got my first green card with them.
AAoA liked that one for sure!
1979 ??? Wow
That's some serious help to your AAoA
But how cool is it to have such a new card with a date of 1979 on it!?!
Congratulations, and welcome back to the Amex family!!! Good luck with the backdating; I'm sure you'll get it.

Thank you!
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!!
We had success with them today too! NPSL and backdating sure sounds good and, who knew that folks like us (with REPOS on our CRs) would get approved. We've been rejoicing and happy dancing like crazy!!!

That would be INSANE amount of AAOA!
Go get it!

I read about your app spree - very well done!
So upon the arrival of my Zync, I will be doing a couple of things:
1- closing my secured cap1, so that I can put that 1k back into a CD
2- closing my orchard card w/ $420 CL
3- putting my AU Amex in the SD
I'm REALLY liking the thought of having this charge card, vs using a revolver, as I do not like to carry balances. I can treat the zync like a debit card and as I do with all debit card purchases, I make sure I can cover the purchase, without overdrawling.
Win/win
Congrats on your Success,
I am somewhat interested in this card, but have been waiting to get my balances down and I have a BK that is scheduled to drop next year. Do you know which CR they pulled? My BK doesn't appear on my EX and I hear AMEX often pulls EX . . . also was a AU several years back, but they do not have me in their system. What are the chances of being back dated if I gave them the name of the AU?
HotPoint
EQ - 683 - 5.31.12
TU - 680 - 5.31.12
EX - 780 - 6.2.12

Thank you!
They pulled EX, so with NPSL approval, I won't get to learn of my EX score.
They do not backdate AUs (I've tried)
