For my Real Rewards card the BT rate is the same as the non-promo purchase rate, which is 12.99%. I agree that's how they get ya, unless you know their game and figure out how to work it like I did and others have.

Bunnyrabbit, that's not how I'm reading this. The way I read it, the tiers are levels of annual spending for all purchases, and you get the rewards based on the annual spending tier you happen to be in at the time of the purchase.
