@stonedog23 @zuma1 On some core cards they are allowing you to transfer credit limit from one card to another. I've done it twice in the last 12 months. Once from a QS to SavorOne and again from SavorOne to Venture X.
Curious on how you went about it? Why is it just a money transfer where you transferred one balance to the next, or was it that you took your credit line, moved it to the other card and closed out the one you took the limit from?

But I think my question is entirely different. But changing products might be a great ideal.
I received the letter today. I closed the account, I have no use for it now.
@zuma1 wrote:I too wish they still allowed for people to change or transfer and combine limits. I will never understand why they took that option away. Some people want several of the same card others do not. I will keep it for now, But on my radar is moving my Kohl's card to the new Kohl's reward Visa, which is apparently not even an option. I wish that when you called, they could give you some direct answers, but they always give you the runaround. I also wish they would let you transfer co brand to cobras
Unless something has recently changed, you can.
Also note that in the past you couldn't do this by calling and the reps had very little information about it; it was only available using their website (again, unless something has recently changed).
@zuma1 wrote:When I called that's what I was told. You can transfer a balance but not combine a balance if that makes sense.
Yeah, the rep was confused... "transfer a balance" means you let one card pay off another card, which is not what you're wanting to do.
See the other thread for more details. (Read past the first post, since some people reported a different dashboard from what I had and even mine has changed since that was posted last year; now I find it under "Manage your credit line" which I didn't have before.)
So I just checked and yes, I do have this. I guess my question is, With my Walmart card changing to a quicksilver, I already have two other quicksilver. If I do that and hit transfer credit line to Quicksilver, it will automatically klose, my Quicksilver one correct?

So... IF the accounts you want to transfer qualify, then you can transfer the majority of the selected card's credit line to the other, but C1 makes you leave at least $100 CL on the card that you're depleting.
Then once that is done, you'll have to close the card account yourself.
I think maybe both accounts also have to have a $0 balance, or at least the one you're transferring the CL from does for sure.
C1 has restrictions like that for accounts to qualify for CL transfers, as well as good standing and age of accounts.
All of it should be able to be done on C1's website or the app.
It remains to be seen if the new QS accounts will or won't qualify for CL transfers right away, or at all for that matter.
We can't assume anything with C1, and they're not saying one way or the other yet.
With so many people already having a QS card, it would be really chitty of them to not allow it.
I know many are disappointed in getting " another " QS but I just my conversion letter today that I'll be getting a QS and I'm quite happy to finally have a core CapOne card sanz 3 hps. Being where I'm from it's a little more harder to get core Cap One cards so this is pretty cool though I'm sure it'll be bucketed lol. I did receive a new Wally card as well recently just to add the dp.
At least they're not just closing everyone's card lol. No one can ever just be happy.
