Added datapoint in case it wasn't mentioned: at the bottom of the letter it states "you'll receive a new card with a new account number".
That leaves the reasonable speculation that it's going to ding my file as a new Revolving account, take a few points away, and set me 1 account further away from my 5/24 chase goal. 🤔

How will the Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard be reported in my credit report?
This Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard will not be reported as a new account and your account open date will appear as the same date currently reported for your Capital One Walmart Rewards Card or Walmart Rewards Card on your credit file. The information previously reported to the credit bureaus will be updated with the name "CAPITAL ONE" and the credit bureaus will continue to receive updates based on your ongoing account performance. Even though this is not a new account, if you currently use credit monitoring services, they may send you a new account alert due to the name change to CAPITAL ONE. Please know this is the same account information and open date.

Hmm thanks. I hope that's correct. I suppose I've not seen a new account number not get dinged as a new account before, so the wording in the letter was a bit concerning. 😀
Finally got my letter today. Current 5% good through Oct 8? ("Changing on Oct 9th, 2024").
The new design now seems to be the new mainstay for QS
@DanteJuan95 I noticed that as well but that design seems so basic and more of a working design as opposed to the final look.
Right because when you log on it just looks like blue static. Maybe the day they covert the design will change to an updated one. I hope because I don't like this blue stuff.
I admit I've never been a huge fan of the Quicksilver design (the chip being 'backwards' always annoyed me) but this is an interesting update. This new design is remarkably similar to the Venture X, which (to me) is odd since one is a cash-back earning card and the other is a 'points' card.
I would have expected them to update the Venture (non-X) to make it more similar to the Venture X, but that one appears unchanged (at least so far). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Almost looks like it's fading away. Wouldn't that be crazy if it was a sign of starting to phase it out entirely? Especially acquiring Discover.
@UncleBI thought the same about the design too. I'll say that QS has a better font though. I wish Capital One would ditch the stodgy and imo super ugly font used on all Venture family cards for something more modern and sleek (I can't stand the way E's look in that font among other things), If the new QS font became that VentureOne/Venture/VX font I'd be ok with that. I also find it interesting that they've changed the QS appearance on the website, while for SavorOne, they haven't changed the website image even though the card design changed months ago (along with the now discontinued Savor). The color scheme remained about the same, but they moved the card name from the center to below the chip and the cardholder name was moved to the rear.
