Applied for a Walmart card today.......got the "you will receive our decision in the mail within 5-7 days"  I'm sure that means I was denied

Try calling them. I received the same msg and they only needed to verify my info with couple of questions over the phone. Good luck!!

+1.. I had a previous card in my older days and recieved approval right after i apped so the 7-10 meant denial to me this time . I thought it was strange after i called for fun today, to be asked several identity verification questions  Smiley Indifferent. This was 3 days after i applied.. where companies usually have a response or letter already in the mail. To my surprise, i guess im approved for the Discover version Smiley SurprisedSmiley Happy and it should be arriving shortly. 680ish TU.

So for anyone with the 7-10 day message dont freak out.

Re: Walmart Credit Card

COngrats to everyone that was Approved! i also just got approved for this card. i dont really see this mentioned in this thread anywhere so i wanted to share with you guys, when i first got approved i was happy but i started thinking HEY why dont i give GE a call an see if they will Recon the CL. i know GE does not really like to do them so i honestly didnt think i was gonna get it, but guess what I DID lol. i called U/W and told them i was really wanting to USE the card and if they would consider a Higher Cl it would incline me touse the card ALOT more. so the underwriter put pulled up my report that was used in apllication and put me on hold, a couple mins later she came back and nearly doubled my limit. i was really suprised but happy as hell lol GOtta love GE. it would be worth a shot if some of you guys wanted to try for a higher limitSmiley Wink

Re: Walmart Credit Card

love! love! love! appd and was approved for $300.00. They were reporting within a few days which boosted my score tremendously since I didn't have any CCs. On top of that you get your real fico score with paperless billing. I read last week that someone went from 300 to a 5 digit limit within a year (10K) by just paying in full and on time, and that the increases came automatically. Personally, I feel they use the free fico thing as a way to extend you more credit. I mean honestly, who doesn't love shopping at Walmart???? Smiley Wink Total win-win.

started mid 500's. Disputed incorrect items and within a month or two my scores have skyrocketed and continue to do so
EQ: 755 as of 8/2013
TU: 700
Experian(or as I call them, the devil) I have no clue, they haven't released my report
Goal=801 across the board!!! Not too far from this, hoping to garden until Christmas 2013
