I requested a credit limit increase for my Walmart card and received an interesting note in the mail about their credit score. Here's what it said:
We used a credit score developed by us in making our credit decision. The credit score was developed using standard industry methods and was used in evaluating your request. The credit score is not a FICO score and may differ from the score you may obtain from a consumer reporting agency.
Scores range from a low of 507 to a high of 741.
Walmart offers card holders a free FICO score but they use their own scores when making credit decisions. It seems everyone has their own scoring model these days.
Guess they have been getting a lot of people question the scores they have recived on apprval/denial thanks for posting that
Maybe Wal Mart is looking into planting themselves in the credit formula/Scoring industry. There gonna roll back their prices on the scores and eventually take over Fico's Market share!!!
