- do you think I'd be approved for the Wal-Mart Discover card?
Walmart pulls TU so it's possible. Do you have any baddies? Also, if they offered you the Walmart store card, would that be an issue?
Yes I do. My credit report isn't very good. Everything on it is 12 years old or more except Midland which I'm paying every month.
Last month my scores were between 584 and 595.
Was thinking of applying for the Wal Mart card middle of November.
i doubt you would be approved for the discover version but you would definitely be a good candidate for the regular walmart card. i applied last month for the GE walmart card hoping to get the discover version but i only got the regular card and my TU Fico was about a 711. I think they want high scores and good long history to get the discover version.
I don't want to risk the ding for a hard pull, so think it wise for me to stay away from this one for now.
Thank you

@They generally approve people who's scores are close to someone getting approval for a regular Discover Card ( @Anonymous ish score, no recent baddies, etc). They'll probably offer you the regular card, but I've seen stranger things happen!!!
Thants a great CL. I hope to get the upgrade to a Discover sometimes

I'd figure as many cards as you have...you would start reading the fine print, and see what APR is on the cards that you apply for, and not just assume...

Well we cannot all be perfect like you! I went by the advertisement they sent me for the 18 month financing for the electronic purchase. It states and I quote, “Regular credit terms apply to non-promotional purchases and after promotion ends to promotional purchases. For new accounts: Variable purchase APR is 16.90%, 19.90% or 22.90%”. So you see I didn't just come up with the hope of a lower APR out of thin air!!! BTW, I only have 7 CC.
I wonder if the Discover version starts with a min CL of $2000?
@lithium78 wrote:Congrats on the Walmart Discover! 22.9% is the only rate they offer for that card. Enjoy the free TU FICO every month and the financing for Christmas presents. :-)
Thanks!! I am super excited about the free TU fico score. I was going to cancel the TU quarterly fico here, but I understand the one Walmart provides is a different version. I am going to keep the membership here until it updates in November. I am hoping I can compare them and see what the normal difference in scoring is. Maybe I will be able to just estimate this version on here and save 5 bucks a month!!
