a litlte late now but if you pay it through online banking i dont believe they hold it.
ive only had the card for 4 months and they havent held a payment yet.
I paid it online at their site, and it took about 3 days of it showing "Pending" then it posted as the 14th, the day I paid it, but they show it no longer pending on the 16th. I called to see why i stil only had x amount avail and thats when the lady gave me info above.
SO not a happy girl right now.

That is so weird. I keep hearing this about GE but I always have it available the next day after payment. I have had the walmart discover only a couple of months and both payments I have made did not get held. I have had their Amazon store card about 18 months though. Maybe the system takes that into consideration?

walmart and ae are my fist ge cards.
i send an electronic payment through my bank and they show up same day with aval credit.
opened both cards in july.
That sucks. Hell, Cap1 doesn't even hold this long. I would keep calling them. Maybe you can ask them to do a 3-way call with your bank so they can verify the funds have cleared? You have a few days.
