Wamu Credit Card

Two days ago i applied for a Wamu credit card, when i summited my application it didn't approve me on the spot. it said, they will send me a letter in 2 to 4 weeks. does this mean I'm not approve??? has this happen to any body before?? i was thinking maybe i wasn't approve because i just moved to a new home and i applied with my new address witch its not on my credit report. what do you guys think? Hello Mabin-

I applied and got the same message. In my case it is most likely a decline,but if your scores are higher, no BK or nearing off CR, no coll, or judgements you should be good.

If your scores are high and you get a low CL, look for the thread with the back door numbers that may help.

By no means is it a decline even if you have a bk reporting. When I called for status on my app rep asked few questions, and app was instant approval. They do lots of manual reviews. GL keep us posted Wellcome to the board

WaMu is not the speediest ccc's out there. I got the same thing when I responded to a pre-approval in the mail. It took 3 weeks of nerve wrecking, finger nail biting before I found out. The cc just appeared in the mail one day. Each time I called them they said they were still reviewing. So I gave up, and concentrated on something else.

Maybey call and check on the status and see if they have any questions. I did have some trouble at the end of the year because I moved to another state. Especially when they ask how long you've been at your home address and sometimes they dont ask for a previous address...

I had the same thing happen with BofA late last year - applied in November online in response to a preapproved offer, got the "you'll receive correspondence in 7-10 days" screen, and shrugged it off figuring I was declined.

We went on vacation, and when we returned - my cards were waiting in the mail. So no I don't think that response necessarily means you will be declined.

IMHO, though, WAMU is an absolutely horrible awful CC and the only reason I'm keeping my PIF TL open is for the 10-year history.

I think I will do the same- WAIT. I was inpatient and called Chevron and got a FAT denial. I still haven't heard anything from HOOTERS. I have called three times and it was still in review. WOW! They review CA they snail service. Oh well, but I really want the HOOTERS card, that would be the trophy of my collection. In Dec I will apply for another card. Oh yes, BoA sent me my letters for the approved secured card and the reason they denied me for a regular card was the BK-02. Go figure!
