Wayfair/Comenity question

So since Wayfair and Comenity are splitting ways and all cards are being shutdown in September would it be better to go ahead and close the account so it says closed by consumer on ur credit reports rather than closed by issuer?

Re: Wayfair/Comenity question

You can close it, or they can close it for you.

There is never ending myth about "OMG ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR! TRAGEDY ON MANUAL REVIEW"

Kinda sounds like a valid theory, but consider the opposite from UW point of view "They are opening and closing accounts, must be churning/sub chasing"

Any underwriter who's been working longer than one day knows accounts get closed all the time for variety of reasons.

It's really about whatever you're more comfortable with.
