It seems to me that the boost to your AAoA is worth the inq, which is temporary anyway. Congrats on the approval! Nice card, and of course, it should be able to grow with you.
ETA: BTW, nice wheels!
Congratulations! Your journey from your starting score to where you are now is such an inspiration!
LOOKING GOOD. Looking real good
Nice 'stang! I drove a 2000 and loved it. Even though I have an SUV now, I drive it like it's a Mustang (and am often disappointed...LOL).
Low mileage too. I'm guessing you have another car? My 2010 is pushing 26K miles...I'll be passing you up soon after a few more road trips. Haha.

In my estimation, with backdating especially to the extent you have it, it's always a good idea to add an AmEx. More aaoa, credit line, and lower utilization. Anyway, with AmEx, they've go so many different rewards that it makes sense to have a Charge card, hotel rewards card, airline card, and your run-of-the mill no fee cash card.
PS - Betraying my age here, but my very first car was a Mustang 5.0 (1988). You guys remember that one?
My favorite feature (when I found out about it applying when you get a new AMEX lol) is the back dating. Which for me goes back to about the time of your first car, you kids these days (My first car was a 1973, used but perfect, and inexpensive). I did have a 1984 Mustang GT 5.0 convert though with a 5spd back in the 80's, couldn't use it at all in the winter (again used, only bought 1 new car in my life, in 88, probably won't do that again, too much depreciation for me).
I would really like to add another AMEX soon, maybe later this year. Two more would be awesome LOL (ok, I'm still happy I got ZYNC for now lol).
I think AMEX for back dating is really worth stepping out of the garden for (not that I'm a big gardener, can't really claim that I don't think). The back dating also justifies an AF (for some, the perks on some cards do also).
@Anonymous wrote:So I decided to step out of the Garden and app for yet another AmEx.
I have all my reports froze and tried to app with AmEx to see what happened, and when the lady submitted my app over the phone she said she was unable to get a decision at that time, so I said to her, ""Oh yeah, I just remembered my EX report is froze"" she said, yes, that's probably the reason.
So I called EX got a temp PIN and called AmEx New Accounts back and gave them the PIN, the rep pulled my EX report and instantly said Congratulations, you've been approved.
I apped for the HiltonHH Honors card, it has no AF and a promo for 40,000 bonus points if I spend 750 in the first 90 days which will be no problem, I would like to start traveling and visiting different places in the future, so I think this card is a good fit for me.
Not to mention this is my fourth Card with AmEx backdated to 91, so I now have 84 years of history listed on my reports with AmEx alone LOL!!! (Well, I will once this card is reported). This Hilton Card will be my oldest AmEx since the open date will be listed at 2/1991 and my BC is listed as opened 3/1991, you just have to love backdating.
My BCP CL is 12,400
BC CL is 7,500
PR Gold NPSL
HiltonHH Honors is 5,000
@I just closed two of my crap cards I got when rebuilding, so I lost 900 revolving credit, but just got a CLI from PayPal SC Card from 2150>3500 and now the HiltonHH card @ 5K, so I've made up the 900 I lost plus added 5,450, I believe this will put my total avail revolving credit right around 60K, not including my PR Gold.
I had been thinking really really hard lately about getting another AmEx, and I finally caved last night at did it, I see it this way, I got a HP on EX, but once the Hilton is listed on my reports, the backdating of 21 years will wipe away any negative affect of the inq due to the backdating, and maybe, just maybe, this card will put my TU over the 800's??
Just wanted to share, thanks for reading.
Mustanglvr2006 why you did not go for 60.000 bonus points ???
It's not too late to get 20.000 extra bonus points. Ask them and they will add it, just don't call or e-mail regular customer service. Go to Twitter @AskAmEX, tell them what you want, someone will respond, last time for me it was Olivia, then send her secured e-mail through online account, choose Social Media Contact (Twitter) option and in 2 or 3 days once you have $750 plus in purchases they will add it to your Hilton HHonors account. I would suggest that you ask for additional 20.000 bonus points once you have already received your first 40.000 bonus points.
I also have to say;
HUGE CONGRATS MUSTANGLVR2006 on the new AMEX HiltonHH!!!
All that back dating is gonna get you a tricked out bright red walker though Well, maybe at least a nudge (you're practically in the 800 zone as it is) into the 800's (well, MORE 800's LOL).
I'd say it was well worth stepping out of the garden for a short app stroll lol. When it comes to improving a CS, you really are a good example of how it's done. Like I've said before, a lot of us want to be like you when we grow up lol, although if our cars (the one I drive most anyway lol) were parked side by side people would think I was your grandpa!
Awesome job, just awesome freakin job
