Wells Fargo Pre-Qualified?

Hi,

I logged onto my Wells Fargo bank site and saw this 'Your Pre-Qualfied for a Wells Fargo Rewards Card'.

Does anyone know if....

Does pre-qualified equal pre-approved with Wells Fargo?

Would this be a HP if I hit the button and applied?

Does Wells Fargo give good and regular CLI's?

My DH and I both had that pre-qualified message and we both got instantly approved for the Rewards Visa Siggy card.  Even if it did mean you were pre-approved, that does not necessarily guarantee an approval.  As always, YMMV.

If you hit the button and applied, it would absolutely be a HP.

I don't know if Wells Fargo gives auto-CLIs, but I have read a few posts here that some are getting SP CLIs.

I highly recommend that rewards card if it has the 6-month 5x promo for grocery, gas stations and drug stores.  It might only be for 6 months, but we were able to cash in over $1,200 in cash back on my DH's card, and I expect us to earn about the same amount of rewards using the new card I just got.  So, about $2400 in rewards in a year's time.  That makes me happy.
