Hey guys,
Curious to get opinions on if I should apply to Chase and if so what my chances are of getting in. This past week I've been sent 3 pre-approved offers by them for Freedom card and two for Slate. My FICO is in the signature. My biggest problem is my oldest account is only a year and I just got my Discover card in June.
Should I leave it alone and get more time under my belt or go for it?
Based on the info you gave, I'd definitely suggest going for Freedom.

What are your current CL's? Sounds like you'd get in, but the potential issue with Chase is that if you get a low CL it's not quick or easy to get it increased. Not sure what your needs or wants are.
There is a 5/24 rule that's relatively new for chase. They don't want to see more than 5 new tradelines in 24 months for their own cards (Freedom and CSP...and maybe Slate). So if you want a Freedom and are on an edge where it's now or not for several years, maybe that be a consideration. You could app for Freedom and a co-branded card like a hotel or airline card from them and have it potentially get it on the same pull and possibly (likely?) get a higher CL on the co-branded.
Thanks for the replies! I just checked and the other two pre-approved offers were for Slate card.
Has that Chase charge-off been satisified? If not, regardless of amount and what may have happened when you were 18, it may or may not surface when you apply since Chase can have a long memory on any previous negative accounts. If your application is declined, then you may be blacklisted. Only way to know for sure is when you decide to apply.

I got my CL raised immediately on Freedom, HP and transfer some limit. If you have room in your profile, they will give a credit limit increase for HP.
I was in a same situation last year. I applied for Chase freedom and was approved for 10000$. Keep your util low before you apply.
