Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
The OP could start looking at some cashback cards like the BCE, Freedom, IT or maybe some travel/points such as the CSP, PRG, and more acronyms.
I would suggest trying to get a US Bank Cash+. If there isn't a local US Bank near you, the apply for the platinum. You can PC it to the Cash+ at a later time. I had a 732 when I applied, and I recall someone else applied with a 730, and we each got the same limit of $8,500 so since your scores are a bit higher I would guestimate you would receive at least that much. Cash+ has a 5% selectable category for Furniture stores. There is also a Department stores category. But, 5% is limited to $2000 spending per quarter. I had no problem applying for a second US Bank card 2 months later.
You should also get an American Express card, the credit limit increases fairly rapidly. Whichever one fits your needs the best, as everyone is different.
And yes, probably a store card for Lowes if you plan to buy your home improvement supplies from there.
