Amex Hilton (Primary)-----$13,900
Citi Hilton Visa Signature (Back-up)-----$19,900
Chase Saphire World Mastercard (Back-up for the back-up)-----$20,000
They're the only cards I have. I don't see a need for any more. I'll probably be in the garden for the rest of my life. (I'm 61).
PNC Cashbuilder Visa Signature
Chase Freedom
Chase Ink Classic
American Express Simply Cash
Sovereign Bank Visa Signature
Ameerican Express Blue Cash Everyday
Fidelity American Express
Two Capital One debit card
My Amex BCP should be here any day now. Once it is, my everyday lineup will be:
Amex BCP - 6% groceries, 3% gas
Discover More - 5% categories and ShopDiscover
Chase Amazon Visa - 2% restaurants/fast food
Barclaycard Rewards World Mastercard - 2% utilities
Target Red Card - 5% discount at Target
Debit card - not really used, just in case
I also do actually carry these in my wallet, but they generally don't get much (or any) use:
Old Navy store card - rewards/discounts at Old Navy
Walmart store card - free TU FICO!
GE CareCredit - for use at the dentist
GM Card (Formerly HSBC, now Capital One - 1% cash back
Chase Slate - balance transfers if needed
US Bank Gymboree Visa - 5% discount at Gymboree
Best Buy store card - rewards/discounts at Best Buy
Platinum Mastercard - old account, no rewards
JPM Palladium
Amex PRG
Ameriprise World Elite Mastercard
Citibank debit card
These 4 cards cover all my bases. Palladium for hidden TL and concierge, PRG for daily purchases, Ameriprise for large purchases that I can't pay off immediately, (due to 6.24%) and debit card for cash withdrawal.
Thinking back, 4 years ago all I had in my wallet was my girlfriends debit card because my credit was so poor, and I was even on chex systems, so I couldn't even open a bank account. I have made so many mistakes in my life. (Both personal and credit wise). Well, live and learn!
Zync is usually the go to card, but I'll use discover for useful categories. If a merchant is only MC/Visa, I use the SW RR Visa.
I actually have most of my cards with me but don't use them... just don't like to see empty slots in my wallet!
I picked the cards I apped for so that I can get great coverage of what I have in daily expenses without too many cards:
With those cards, I never have accpetance problems and my "out and about" expenses roughly get rewarded with:
for an average of 5% (or slightly less since I won't always get 1p=1penny on the forward points).
Optimizing the last 20% does not seem worth it to me. If I had a general 2% card for the last 15%, that'd get me to an average of 5.1%.
Again, this is only for walking around. For online expenses and travel, I could probably benefit from another card or two.
