What impact does acceptin a GE Visa Upgrade have on your credit?

Just got the pop up offer to upgrade my Old Navy card to a visa. Does this count as opening a new account? I feel like I read that somehwere on this forum. I do not want to jeopardize my gardening!

I've been wondering the same thing about upgrading a Walmart store card to a Walmart Discover card.

I know that for the Walmart store card to the Discover version they create a new account, so your AAoA would be impacted.

Yeah, its a new account, yet it keeps the same account age from the previous card!

I got an upgrade for Old Navy Visa. They opened a new account w/o any HP and it reported a beand new opening day.  The Old Navy Visa gives you triple points or 5 pts by using outside Old Navy ( like gas, groceries, restaurants etc.) from time to time. Old Navy Card doesn't give you any bonus points.  It helps to get your bonus more quickly. By the way, it  might give your CLI by accepting the Visa Upgrade.

Thanks folks! I'm not going to pull the trigger on this offer. I figure that they will probably make the offer again sometime in the future and I am happy with getting my 4 month cli's.

to which conversion are you speaking of? Old Navy to Old Navy Visa or Walmart to Walmart Discover?

I always assumed it was for both and any GE upgrade, but correct me if i'm wrong! I dont have personal experience with it.
