... once the introductory promotional 15 months period expires? Having skimmed various threads, I have increasingly been scratching my head and racking my brain, but cannot figure it out. Do you get a favorably low percentage on BTs? What's the deal?
slate is good for exactly what its there for. 15 month 0 apr and 60 days to BT with no fee. now the FICO ontop of blue print of course.
otherwise, whether slate offers you other offers through out the years is more of a YMMV kind of thing. I dont see a lot of people posting about a great slate offer they received after having the card for 2 years.
Nope, that's it. Like Citi Diamond Preferred, it's there for the intro period. PC to Freedom if you don't want the FAKO
There's nothing great about it long term, and even many rewards cards offer 0% periods. The main attraction to Slate (I guess) is the lack of a BT fee if you really need a sizeable BT.

Slate provides a monthly EX FICO 08 not FAKO.
As others have stated its good for exactly whats advertised. 15 months 0% bt with no fees. 0% on purchases also but not much incentive to use it for purchases with other card options available.
This question can be applied to almost every Platinum level, barebones credit card offered by most banks. Many of them come with BT offers upon approval with limited to no rewards or exceptional benefits. I've always ranked the Slate higher than most of its competitors because it does offer an EX score, as well as being an excellent candidate for consolidation after the 0% period for cardholders with other Chase cards. From a bank's perspective, these bland cards are likely quite profitable as they have similar interest rates as rewards cards...without offering rewards.
I do have a Slate card myself. Coincidentally, Chase floods my mailbox with BT offers on my other Chase cards like my CSP, Marriott, and Freedom but not my Slate card.
It's not even a paperweight, atleast the CSP can be used as a paperweight.
After the interest free introductory period, WHAT benefit does this card provide?
Like I don't see any reason anybody would even want it, am i missing something here?
I got one just for the introductory BT offer. But after that's paid off, it will just keep my socks company.
It does provide a free monthly EX FICO score. It wouldn't be worth burning a HP/AAOA hit for the card, but if I already had applied for one with the intent of taking advantage of the 60 day zero BT fee, I probably would keep it open beyond that just to get the free FICO.
Sure. It's a BT card. If one is looking to BT it could be a good fit. If you don't see the point then why are you so concerned about it? Move on to cards that do suit you. Just never assume that what doesn't suit you doesn't suit anyone.
