Re: What is your Credit Card Wish List?

I’m looking for a 5% Gas, Dining, and Utilities card that doesn’t require me to live in Arizona.

Re: What is your Credit Card Wish List?

I'm really hung up on wanting the Chase Ink Cash for some reason. Problem is, I don't have a business and I cannot stand being dishonest. But 5X UR on my phone and internet bills and at office supply stores (I'm a teacher plus hellllooo gift cards!) just sounds nice.

And as funny as it is to say, I want the Chase Freedom. This is funny because my first cc was a Chase card 25 years ago when I was starting college. That account morphed into a Freedom eventually, and I carried that Freedom as my only cc for many a year. I recently upgraded it to a CSP so that I could transfer the UR I earn on my Freedom Unlimited (which I've now had for almost 2 years) to Southwest. I'm missing my Freedom's 5X categories though. I plan to jump on a new one when I'm back under 5/24, which unfortunately won't be until the end of next year.

And I plan to upgrade my CSP to a CSR in the not-too-distant future.

If I can establish the CSR, CF, FU trifecta plus the CIC (if I gather the nerve or...start a business), I feel like I'd have maximum UR earning power.

Wish list:

-- USAA Limitless (2.5% on everything)

-- Golden 1 Credit Union Platinum Rewards Visa (3% on groceries, gas, and dining)

-- Bank of the West Cash Back MasterCard (3% on groceries, gas, and dining)

I'm ineligible for all three of these cards, but I can always wish.

4th Navy Card

IIRC, NAVY won't issue a 4th CC.  3 is the max according to confirmed info from NFCU.  I suppose some folks can still pursue that elusive unicorn!

Re: What is your Credit Card Wish List?

I stumbled onto the Chase quadfecta a while back and really there isn't anything out there that I'm looking at.

If I start driving more (in a non-EV which I just don't see once this SF gig is over) then I should go pick up a gas card as really now that I'm thinking about this I should just go close the Costco card and membership since I am just not shopping there much.  Huh, yet another recurring fee to kick to the curb, go me!

There just really isn't anything in my life right now that doesn't neatly align with the Chase bonus categories, and default FU with transfer is as good as I can realistically get short of a 2.5-3% card... I did seriously look at that Alliant card that I got a pre-approval on, but I suspect that's the fallback plan if something goes sideways with Chase and I color inside the lines when it comes to my credit cards and the difference isn't really enough to justify it even over the long term.

What bank issues the Uber Visa CC? 4% sounds great😁

If you have Netflix, Amazon Prime or some other streaming services, it's actually 5% back on restaurants/bars & 4% on travel once you spend at least $5K on the card during the year.  There's a $50 streaming credit once you hit $5K.

No it's not!   If I spend $100K on dining, and say $50 on streaming, I'm getting $4051 in rewards (assuming I get 2% on the $50 streaming) which is much nearer 4% than 5%.   It's always 4%/3% with a possibility of an additional $50, which is only big on smallish spends.

I was unclear.

If you have streaming and spend 5K on the Uber Visa, it's effective 5% back on dining.

If you have streaming and spend 10K, it's effective 4.5%

If you have streaming and spend 20K, it's effective 4.25%.

Limitless still exists, and many USAA members have it, but it is closed to new applicants.
