What's your current favorite credit card, and why?

Just thought it'd be interesting to get a feel for what's out there =) For me, it's my BofA Platinum Plus Mastercard (formerly MBNA). I got it my first year in college, which was 1999-2000, started out as a standard $500 card, and over the years, it just kept increasing automatically. Whenever I'd approach the limit, they'd bump it up without me asking. It's now sitting at over $13K. I hope to pay it down soon, because the interest has also climbed as my credit got worse and had a 30-day late payment, but I can't blame the company at all. Plus, I hear they do nothing but soft pulls, which is nice to know for the future. What's yours?

Re: What's your current favorite credit card, and why?

I'm not sure if it's my favorite, but my Amex Gold is definitely my most used. I love the fact that I can charge away, and not have to worry about my score dropping.

I think my actual favorite might be my Chase Freedom Visa. You can really rack up cash back on that card. I got it mid-February and use it moderate to lightly and have already accumulated $120 in cash back. When you get to $200 they will cut you a check for $250.
Here we go again...

At the moment, and through August, it's my Chase British Airways Visa - promo going on giving me 5x miles per $ after the first $250/month.  Going to rack up as many miles as I safely can! Smiley Happy

Re: What's your current favorite credit card, and why?

For general use - Gas card (Juniper) for the gas back, which is getting better and better!

For big ticket items - Amex, for the warranty and other stuff

For a balance if I ever need it - CU Visa- lowest APR
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

At the moment it's my HSBC 2% cash back rewards w/no AF.  My CL is still only at $1500 but that's more than enough for my monthly groceries and gas and I PIF.  It's fun watching my reward money grow.

Man, some of you guys are getting some nice rewards! I need to look into that sometime (the only card I use that does rewards is my CapitalOne, at a measly 1%).

Penfed Plat Plus Visa, 5% cash back every month on gas, credited directly on my statement. No explanation needed in this day and age! Smiley Very Happy

Before gas prices went berserk, it would have to be either of my USAA cards, just because USAA is so good to do business with.

Re: What's your current favorite credit card, and why?

My favorite is Discover. Besides the cash back, I really like their customer service. The CSR are very courteous and they really understands what you're talking about. You talk about gas prices, they know because they experience it too. Unlike foreign call centers, you talk about gas price, they will think "why can't you take the bus or walk...", of course they won't say that, lol. They will say "I'm sorry to hear that" yet you don't feel any sincerity when they say it. Another reason for Discover is the BT offer.

Re: What's your current favorite credit card, and why?

Costco AmEx for sure! 3% cash back on gas, 3% on restaurants, 3% at Costco, 2% on travel and 1% back on everything else. Did I mention the $2,000.00 initial CL and the subsequent increase to $3,000.00 one month later? Oh and let's not forget the great customer service and amazing warranty protection! Smiley Happy

Re: What's your current favorite credit card, and why?

My USAA AmEX... 5% on gas, dining and groceries.. It's almost like a line of credit and I can pay multiple payments per month. Cash Advances, BT's and just using the card are the same. I love it!!
