What was your first prime card after rebuilding credit?

Just curious, what was the first prime card you were approved for after rebuilding your credit and what was your score?

After a year of good performance on my low-limit secured cards (CapOne & Applied), Credit Karma said I had a good chance of being approved for Barclay NFL and Discover IT, even though my FAKO was about 635.  I was instantly approved for both.

Now, six months later - I have a FAKO of 715, and today received an auto-CLI to $4700 on the BarclayNFL, and expect a CLI on the Discover very soon.

Also, in the six months since I entered "PrimeVille", I have acquired the AmEx Gold PRG, and the Chase INK.

The moral:  Good credit can be established very quickly, when payments are made on time, inquiries are limited, and "baddies" on the credit report are dealt with.

Re: What was your first prime card after rebuilding credit?

WF was both my first (initially secured) rebuilding card and first non-secured prime bank card when it graduated.

The good thing about that path is that my short credit history now has no subprime accounts or indications of rebuilding in it's history.

I highly recommend major secured cards that graduate.

I have reestablished credit over the last couple years
so my moniker is, well, rather out of date.

WM Discover $1800, WF Plat 12k, Chase Freedom Siggy18k, Amex Plat (60k H/B), Citi AA EWMC 25k
