When does AMEX charge the AF on their charge cards?

I recently got a Zync and wanted to know when will they charge my account with the $25 AF? After the first billing cycle?

Always been first statement for me, but I'm curious. I've heard people posting about the platinum charge and saying it showed up immediately,but perhaps they meant first statement which was 'too soon for them'. Anyone with a plat who can say? I'm thinking of getting on in Jan when I'll be traveling more frequently,
