No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I'm just about 2yrs post BK and acquired a car loan 6mos ago. It was the only new credit I have gotten (or tried to get) since my BK.
My Equifax score is 680.
I'd like a credit card purely to rebuild credit, however I am not thrilled about having to get a secured card.
Which cards could I apply for that are unsecured that may approve me? I haven't yet aplied for any cards.
My understandanding is to put some basic recurring charges on the card and pay it off each month. Is that the correct way to go about using the credit for the sake of rebuilding credit?
Thanks in advance.
Dean
What banks the debt from which you discharge during BK? Some banks have a long memory of previous debt and may not let you in unless you pay it off first.
Barclays... No annual fee, Get the Barclaycard Rewards Mastercard...
2% on Gas / Utilities / Groceries (including Walmart, Kmart, Dollar General)
1% on everything else.
Better credit lines than Cap 1 and the avaliablity of CLI.
Good with recons.
I would start with Capital one or GE's Walmart store card if you never included them in your BK filing.
While barclays is BK friendly they like to see 6 months of credit card history before giving you a card, if you currently dont have a card I would not recommend applying for this card just yet.
Discover is also BK friendly if you have a good post BK credit history.
Another option is to look at credit unions, a lot of them are BK Friendly.
Stay away from Bank of America, Chase, Citi, American Express.....These guys are not BK friendly.
