This^^^.. Also Discover is mainly softpull but the verbiage on the account is they will let you know if it is going to be a hardpull.

Amex is only soft if you are applying for another card and already have a cc with them until you get approved then it's hard. Cli is soft too.
OP is speaking of CLI's not new cards
AMEX is SP for CLI's
New accounts are a HP only if approved if you are an exisiting cardholder. First time apps will always be a HP.

I only have two credits and looking to get two more. But I'd prefer to have cards that only require soft pulls for CLIs.
The cards that I've been eyeing are Amex BCP and Chase Freedom. I believe the Amex is soft pulls but I don't know about Chase.
What are some good softpull options? Discover maybe?
Since no one has really answered your question in full:
Freedom can be a SP but it is rare (if they mail/email offer you a CLI). Will definitely be a HP if it's initiated by you.
AMEX is soft pull for CLI, so is Discover and Capital One.
ngamtns
to clearify if I have a AX cc aready and apply for another its a SOFT pull? I thought it was for CLI only.
It's a SP until you are approved. In other words if it's an immediate denial it won't be a HP.

Also, FNBO is SP if you call and ask if a CLI is available. Barclay is SP if you get past the normal CSR's (I usually call a backdoor number, if its the wrong number they transfer me, which is more than I can expect from the normal CSRs).
Is Synchrony a SP? It was for me, but I called soon after applying for a card so maybe they just used my recent credit pull. I'm sure other know the scoop here.
US Bank is known to usually be a SP if you wait 6 months and then request $1500 or less. I don't think they will even consider a CLI if less than 6 months.
