Also, don't forget, Discover has no FTF, and I don't think it has limits on where categorical spending occurs (like AmEx). So, you could get 5% on Uber now and 5% on restaurants in Q3 in foreign countries.

Discover’s acceptance is even worse then American Express when overseas. I wouldn’t advise making it your primary card for everyday spending.

That depends where you are in the world. Discover working with UnionPay and JCB give it some value when in certain Asian countries (There are some complications with outdated UnionPay terminals though). As for Europe, Discover does have a long ways to go for being a worthy traveling companion, but I hear they're working on growing market share via the Diners Club network.

However considering Diner's Club acceptance is almost non-existent...

Thanks for the replies guys. I am hoping to convert CSP to CSR next year, when I hit the one year mark with it. But for whatever reason, my spends are mostly not recognize as bonuses (restaurants and alike). As Discover, I have not seen a single mercant that will accept it abroad.

My primary card is a TD Cash Visa that gives 3% on Restaurants and 2% on groceries. I've only used it in the US and Canada, but it's never screwed up on the bonus.

While Discover isn't too hard to use in the USA, using it in Europe or Asia may be very difficult for everyday purchases.  Hotels, maybe airlines, probably due to Diners Club network tie in.

While not specific, I'd recommend a tappable card.  You may also need a "PIN with chip" card to use at kiosks (train tickets for instance) that only a few American based cards offer.

I have used CapitalOne and BarclayUS cards with ease in Europe and Hungary, although chip only as tappable cards weren't available years ago.

Google/Apple Pay may also work for tappable action if your phone supports such.
