I know some of the Amex cards does not have a preset spending limits set. Are there any other companies and their credit cards offer this no preset speding limit feature.
My CLs are adequate for my spending, but I've heard very heavy spenders report that nothing (or at least nothing available to the general public) really rivals an Amex charge card.
Putting $35k on a Visa or MC with a $30k soft CL may be simple, but putting $100k on it is another story.

I am not taking about having adequate credit limit. My question is preset spending limit. If there is a hard limit then we have to call and ask for the credit limit increase or permission to charge. With Amex if we are travelling we dont have to worry about having to over run the credit limit. Even with Amex there is no guarantee the charge will go through but at least there is a relief we dont have to keep tabs on the balance especially when we are are the road and travelling. That is such a releif knowing Amex will be there.

I was disagreeing with Imperfectfuture. My point was that most VS/WEMC products with soft limits shouldn't be considered NPSL.

Unfortunately, I consider anything over the CL as flexible spending limit. NPSL is not a true NPSL card, since there are hard limits, and very few posters in this forum warrant the spending equivalent of 100k on a 35k Amex card. If that were the case, they would have different cards . Otherwise, even amex has internal limits to charge cards, no not true NPSL as you are describing.

Thanks for the clarificaiton. So you think Amex is best for this feature when we are travelling with no preset spending limit. I like it since I do not have to worry about the limits and card will keep accommodating ( with in limits ) the new charges according to my spending habits. Any way I have 3 kids in college and I have made them as authorized users on my Amex Platinum and I dont have to worry having to make sure there is enough credit available on the card. It will keep adapting to the spending patterns and payments. We will see.

I agree with what you are saying. Even though it says NPSL there is internal limits. But at the same time if we keep charging and making payments over the time the card keep adapting to the spending patterns and we do not have to call and ask for CLI. Especially when we are travelling or if we have authrized users on the card who might come into an emegency and need to bit extra spending power. Any way this is a new world for me with 3 kids going to college soon and having to help them by paying their bills as needed. I was curious of there is any other card that would similar to Amex NPSL cards. Though there is no guarantee charges will be approved, to some extenet PayPal Credit does some thing similar and adapt to the changing spending patterns and possibly allow more charges to go through.
I recently did get a preset limit on my Amex Business Platinum Card, but it was for $100K. This was an improvement as I have only had the card for 6 months and previously could only do a single transaction up to $50K, granted I spend close to $100K per month on this card.
