I'm about to start attacking my credit card balances, is it better to spread a few hundred dollars on each of them or to pay off a few of my oldest cards? I have 8 accounts with balances ranging from $250-750.
You do want to show as many accounts at zero as possible. However, it's important that you don't have any cards totally maxed out such that added interest would put them over the limit.
