From my experience Citi and Navy offers the most generous credit limits with out any fuss. What is your experience?
I agree with both.
My Citi Dividend card I got in April was instantly approved at $4,800. It is now at $6,400 (CLI with a soft pull).
I got Navy in October of last year. Approved at $5,000. Now up to $20,000 one year later (2 hard pulls on EQ).
Barclays is someone I would add to that list as well. Approved for a Travelocity Amex in Dec of last year at $5,000, since raised to $15,000 in July, then I reallocated $5,000 of that line to open a US Airways Premier World Mastercard (for the 40,000 mile bonus).
Starting limits or CLIs?
For me,
Alliant was at $500, CLI to $15K
Barclays was at $650, CLI to $7K
Nordstrom opened at $4K, CLI to $6K
PSECU started at $5K, CLI to $10K.

Wow, 500 to 15k with alliant.. After how many months?
Jtheedges: How long till you asked for cli on your citi dividend?

6 months to the day from approval. Did it online with EX frozen to prevent a hard pull (and I know current lenders have permissible purpose blah blah blah, but I have never ever had a current lender pull my EX when it was frozen, they always comes back asking for the PIN).

6 months on Alliant.
I find chas to be generous. My mom did a small app. spree and they gave her the highest limit. I also have decent limits with them.
My USAA Visa that I opened right after opening my account with them, got an initial CL of $8,000. My highest CL before that was a BoA card at 4k that I had for 5 years.
So, even though I haven't gone for a CLI yet, the $8k limit is pretty good especially for an initial account.
Discover was generous with me.
FIA has been very generous to me.
