Why do you have a credit card ( your opinion )

After seeing so many people with so many different credit cards, just curious of each person's story as to why they have credit cards?

I know the most probable reason is the rewards or credit building, but some people have 10 or more credit cards with high limits... just curious of people's reasoning... and please nobody say because of the great interest rates lol

Rewards. I might as well get paid to buy stuff I was gonna buy anyway. Plus there's the consumer benefits e.g. warranty extension, travel insurance, etc.

For me its the rewards (reasons for having a credit card). Now, why I have more than one or two... now thats another story :-).

The rewards, the discounts, the 0%/BT offers, and protection-for those emergencies, for purchases, to rent cars and hotels, etc.

Before I even had heard of FICO, like many people, I thought that not using or not having credit cards was a good idea.   I have a totally different perspective now. 

For me, CCs are tools to maintain my FICO score, and also to make up for the lack of rewards available from my bank's Debit card.
